ptp send-gm-wtr

Function

The ptp send-gm-wtr command sets the wait-to-restore (WTR) time for the device to send GM message after time lock success.

The undo ptp send-gm-wtr command sets the WTR time to 10 minute.

By default, the WTR time is 10 minutes.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

If the time performance of upstream devices is not stable, the time synchronization topology of downstream devices frequently flaps, resulting in deterioration of the network-wide time synchronization performance. Therefore, this function is supported to re-send the GM WTR after the time is re-locked on downstream devices. This prevents frequent time synchronization flapping on downstream devices. The default value of GM WTR is 10 minutes. If the performance of upstream devices is stable and the network-wide PTP time synchronization topology needs to support rapid switching, you can change the value of GM WTR to a small value. If the estimated time performance of upstream devices is not stable, configure the GM WTR of downstream devices to be slightly greater than the flapping period of upstream devices.

Example

# Set the WTR time to 5 minutes.
