pw-redundancy mac-withdraw rfc-compatible

Function

The pw-redundancy mac-withdraw rfc-compatible command instructs peer PEs to clear MAC addresses for the PWs whose primary/secondary status has been changed in a PW redundancy scenario.

The undo pw-redundancy mac-withdraw rfc-compatible command restores the default configuration.

By default, if the primary/secondary PW status changes in a PW redundancy scenario, the peer PEs are not instructed to clear MAC addresses of the changed PWs.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

In a scenario where VXLAN packets are terminated on a VPLS network and PW redundancy is configured, when the primary/secondary status of PE1 and PE2 changes, PE3 needs to notify PE1 and PE2 of the current PW status so that PE1 and PE2 clear their MAC addresses.

Example

# Enable a device to instruct peer PEs to clear MAC addresses for the PWs whose primary/secondary status has been changed.
