The pwsignal bgp multi-homing command enables VPLS multi-homing.
The undo pwsignal bgp multi-homing command disables VPLS multi-homing.
By default, VPLS multi-homing is disabled.
Usage Scenario
To deliver high-reliability services over a VPLS network, carriers usually dual-home a CE to two PEs through redundant links. While providing link-level protection, the dual-homing mechanism also brings in the risk of routing loops. To prevent routing loops in multi-homing scenarios, you can deploy VPLS multi-homing on PEs.
In scenarios where Huawei and non-Huawei devices communicate with each other, configure VSIs and run the pwsignal bgp multi-homing command to enable VPLS multi-homing. Other VPLS multi-homing configurations can then be performed.Prerequisites
A VSI has been created or the VSI view is displayed using the vsi vsi-name command.
Configuration Impact
In a VPLS multi-homing scenario where multiple CEs are single-homed to a PE, after you run the pwsignal bgp multi-homing command on the PE and specify the VSI RD, a multi-homing site is automatically generated on the PE. This site can be used by all the single-homing CEs. After the default multi-homing site is created, run the site default command to access the default VSI-BGP-SITE view.
