recycle ipv6-address

Function

The recycle ipv6-address command sets the status of IPv6 addresses to idle. In other words, you can configure the device to reclaim some IPv6 addresses.

By default, IPv6 addresses are not recycled.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

recycle { ipv6-address start-address [ end-address ] | prefix start-prefix [ end-prefix ] }

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
end-address

Specifies the end IPv6 address to be reclaimed.

The address is a 32-digit hexadecimal number.

prefix start-address

Specifies the start IPv6 address to be reclaimed.

The address is a 32-digit hexadecimal number.

prefix start-prefix

Specifies the start IPv6 prefix.

The address is a 32-digit hexadecimal number.

prefix end-prefix

Specifies the end IPv6 prefix.

The address is a 32-digit hexadecimal number.

Usage Scenario

The recycle ipv6-address command can be used to reclaim the IPv6 address of an offline user.

Configuration Impact

If the IPv6 address specified in the command is being used by an online user, running the command will log the user out for a short period of time.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.

The command can only be run in a local prefix pool.

# Set the status of the address 2001:DB8:1::1 in the address pool named prefix1 to idle.
