recycle prefix

Function

The recycle prefix command configures a device to recycle prefixes.

By default, prefixes are not recycled.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

recycle prefix start-prefix [ end-prefix ]

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
start-prefix

Specifies a start prefix to be recycled.

The address is a 32-digit hexadecimal number in the format of X:X::X:X/M.

end-prefix

Specifies an end prefix to be recycled.

The address is a 32-digit hexadecimal number in the format of X:X::X:X/M.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

When a prefix is being used but no user is online, you can run the recycle prefix command to recycle the prefix.

Configuration Impact

If the prefix is being used and there are online users, running this command may cause the users to get offline temporarily.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only on the admin VS.

This command can be run only in the delegation prefix pool view.

# Configure a device to recycle the prefix 2001:DB8:1:: in the prefix pool named prefix1.
