Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

When a DHCP client that uses an IP address assigned by the device detects that the address is used by another client on the same network segment, the DHCP client sends a DHCP Decline message to the device. Once the device receives the DHCP Decline message, it automatically sets the IP address to the conflict state and will not assign it to clients. The reset conflict-ip-address command resets the conflict state of the IP address. Then, the device can assign the address to a client.

Precautions

In a RUI scenario, when the RADIUS server delivers IP addresses, you can run this command to clear the conflicting state of an IP address with which a user fails to go online from the backup device.

Example

# Reset the conflicting status of the IP addresses in the local address pool named pooltest.
