Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

To apply an RBP to an interface, run the remote-backup-profile command to bind the RBP to the interface.

An RBP can be bound to a master interface or all sub-interfaces of one master interface, but an interface can be bound only with one RBP.

Prerequisites

The following operations have been performed:

1.Run the remote-backup-profile command in the system view to create an RBP.

2.Run the vrrp-id vrid interface interface-type interface-number command to bind the RBP to a specified VRRP group.

Precautions

The name of the RBP to be bound to an interface must be the same as the name of the RBP created using the remote-backup-profile command in the system view.

Example

# Bind the RBP named rpf to an interface.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] interface GigabitEthernet 0/1/9
[~HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/9] vrrp vrid 1
[*HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/9] quit
[*HUAWEI] remote-backup-profile rpf
[*HUAWEI-rm-backup-prf-rpf] vrrp-id 1 interface GigabitEthernet0/1/9
[*HUAWEI-rm-backup-prf-rpf] quit
[*HUAWEI] interface GigabitEthernet 0/1/9
[*HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/9] remote-backup-profile rpf
