Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

If transmission modes of interfaces at two ends of a link do not match (for example, one is in LAN mode and the other is in WAN mode), run the set transfer-mode command to configure one interface to work in the same transmission mode as the other to ensure reliable transmission.

Prerequisites

Before setting the transmission mode of a 10GE interface to LAN or WAN, delete the clock, PTP, and loopback configurations from the interface and run the shutdown command on the interface.

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.

Example

# Set the transmission mode of 10GE LAN/WAN interface GE 0/1/1 to WAN.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] interface GigabitEthernet 0/1/1
[~HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/1] shutdown
[*HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/1] set transfer-mode wan
[*HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/1] undo shutdown
