traffic select p2mp-te

Function

The traffic select p2mp-te command directs the multicast traffic out of a specified tunnel.

The undo traffic select p2mp-te command disables the traffic forwarding function.

By default, the direction control function does not exist.

Format

traffic select p2mp-te root-ip ip-address tunnel-id tunnel-id

undo traffic select p2mp-te root-ip ip-address tunnel-id tunnel-id

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
tunnel-id tunnel-id

Specifies the ID of a P2MP tunnel.

The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 65535.

root-ip ip-address

Specifies the root IP address of a P2MP tunnel.

The value is a unicast IP address in dotted decimal notation.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

If the multicast service is borne by the point-to-multipoint traffic engineering (P2MP TE) tunnel, the PIM function does not need to deployed on the transit nodes. To forward the multicast traffic to the right target on the leaf node of the tunnel, run the traffic select p2mp-te command to direct the multicast traffic out of a specified tunnel.

Precautions

  • The traffic select p2mp-te command can be only used to direct multicast traffic out of P2MP TE tunnel.
  • The traffic select p2mp-te command cannot be deployed in a private network.
