The transmission-alarm holdoff-timer command can enable the filtering function and set the filtering interval.
The undo transmission-alarm holdoff-timer command can disable the filtering function.
By default, the filtering function is disabled.
This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.
Usage Scenario
If an interface is connected to a transmission device and the network is unstable, a large number of burr alarms are generated when the interface frequently alternates between up and down. If you want to ignore these alarms within a certain period, run the transmission-alarm holdoff-timer command to set an interval for filtering transmission alarms. After this command is run, the interface delays going up/down accordingly.
Prerequisites
Transmission alarm customization has been enabled on an interface.
Configuration Impact
The link setup speed of a 100 Gbit/s CFP2 DWDM optical module is slow (maximum 180s). Therefore, you are not advised to configure the Down suppression command.
Precautions
The value of the holdoff-time parameter varies with the flapping frequency of interfaces.
