tunnel source

Function

The tunnel source command configures the tunnel source interface used when an LAC initiates a tunnel connection request to an LNS.

The undo tunnel source command restores the default setting.

By default, an LAC uses the interface address that can reach an LNS in the local routing table as the source address to initiate a tunnel connection request to an LNS.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

When initiating a tunnel connection request to the LNS, the LAC sends the source address of the local tunnel to the LNS, so that the LAC and the LNS can communicate.

Prerequisites

The specified source interface must be an existing one. If the specified source interface is not configured with an IP address, the address of a directly connected interface in the local routing table is used as the source address.

Precautions

The command is valid only when a device functions as an LAC. To improve the reliability of communication between an LAC and LNS, it is recommended to configure the tunnel source command on the LAC side.

Example

# Configure the LAC to use loopback1 as the tunnel source interface.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] interface loopback 1
[*HUAWEI-Loopback1] commit
[~HUAWEI-Loopback1] quit
[~HUAWEI] l2tp-group 1
[*HUAWEI-l2tp-1] tunnel source loopback 1
