encapsulation rfc4761-compatible

Function

The encapsulation rfc4761-compatible command configures a Huawei device to use the encapsulation type defined in relevant standards for BGP VPLS packets.

The undo encapsulation rfc4761-compatible command restores the default configuration.

By default, the encapsulation types of BGP VPLS packets comply with industry standards. To be compatible with Huawei-proprietary modes (encapsulation type 4 in VLAN mode and encapsulation type 5 in Ethernet mode), run the encapsulation vpls-family-compatible command.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

By default, Huawei VRPv8 devices implement BGP VPLS based on related standards, and the encapsulation type of VPLS packets is 19. Huawei VRPv5 devices implement BGP VPLS based on Huawei-proprietary encapsulation types. In VLAN mode, the encapsulation type is 4. In Ethernet mode, the encapsulation type is 5. For Huawei VRPv5 devices, you can run the encapsulation rfc4761-compatible command to configure the devices to be compatible with the encapsulation types of related standards. For Huawei VRPv8 devices, this command is meaningless and is reserved only for upgrade compatibility.

Prerequisites

The VSI-BGP view has been displayed using the pwsignal bgp command.
