Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

The default MTU is 1500 bytes for a VSI. On a BGP VPLS network, two PEs cannot establish a PW if their VSI MTUs are different. To solve this problem, take either of the following measures:

  • Run the mtu command for the two PEs to use the same VSI MTU.
  • Run the mtu-negotiate disable command to disable the VSI MTU check.

Prerequisites

The VSI-BGP view has been displayed using the pwsignal bgp command.

Configuration Impact

Two PEs can establish a PW regardless of whether their VSI MTUs are the same.

Example

# Disable the MTU check for VSI vsi1.
