wavelength-channel

Function

The wavelength-channel command sets a wavelength number for an optical module.

The undo wavelength-channel command restores the default wavelength number for an optical module.

The wavelength-channel frequency command sets a frequency for an optical module.

The undo wavelength-channel frequency command deletes the frequency set for an optical module.

The wavelength-channel wavelength command sets a wavelength for an optical module.

The undo wavelength-channel wavelength command deletes the wavelength set for an optical module.

By default, the wavelength-channel number is determined by the optical module on the port.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

A wavelength determines transmission quality and efficiency of an optical fiber, which can be set for optical transmission to enable fibers to work in different transmission modes based on actual situations.

Before setting a center wavelength for a tunable optical module whose channel spacing is 50 GHz, run the display wavelength-map command to check the channel corresponding to the wavelength to be set, and then specify the channel in the wavelength-channel channel-num command. After the channel is specified, the wavelength corresponding to the channel automatically takes effect.

Before setting a center wavelength for a tunable optical module whose channel spacing is not 50 GHz, run the display wavelength-capability command to check the frequency and wavelength supported by the optical module on a specified interface and then run the wavelength-channel frequency frequency-number and wavelength-channel wavelength wave-number commands respectively to configure a frequency and a wavelength for the optical module.

Configuration Impact

After the wavelength-channel command is run, the system automatically switches off and then switches on the local optical module. This affects all the services on the interface. Therefore, you are prompted to confirm whether to run this command.

Precautions

The wavelengths must be the same for optical modules inserted into two connected interfaces.

The interval at which the wavelength of an interface's optical module is changed must be no less than 10s.

A center wavelength cannot be configured for a non-configurable optical module inserted into an interface.

A center wavelength cannot be configured for an optical module being upgraded.

If the wavelength-channel command is configured on an interface with a 100 Gbit/s CFP2 DWDM optical module inserted, the wavelength configuration takes a maximum of 90s to take effect. To check whether the configuration takes effect, run the display optical-module brief or display wavelength-map command. (The model of the optical module is OSNB00C02, 118 Gbps(425.78/427.95)-CFP2-SMF-192.1-196.05THz-1200km-commercial.)
