1. Check whether the subcard is installed on an FPIC.

• If the board is not an FPIC, go to Step 5.
• If the FPIC is installed, go to Step 2.

2. Check whether the motherboard of the faulty subcard is reset.

• If so, go to Step 10.
• If not, go to Step 3.

3. Power off the faulty subcard and then power it on.

• If the fault is rectified, go to Step 10.
• If the fault persists, go to Step 4.

4. Remove and insert the faulty subcard.

• If the fault is rectified, go to Step 10.
• If the fault persists, go to Step 5.

5. Check whether the motherboard of the faulty subcard is a subcard.

• If so, go to Step 6.
• If not, go to Step 9.

6. Power off and then power on the board.

a. Fpr non-FPICs:

• If the fault is rectified, go to Step 10.
• If the board cannot be registered, go to Step 8.

b. For FPICs:

• If the fault is rectified, go to Step 10.
• If the board cannot be registered or the alarm cannot be cleared after the board is registered, go to Step 7.

7. Replace the subcard.

• If the fault is rectified, go to Step 10.
• If the fault persists, go to Step 8.

8. Replace the board.

• If the fault is rectified, go to Step 10.
• If the fault persists, go to Step 9.

9. Collect trap, log, and configuration information and contact technical support.

10. End.
