BRASAM/4/hwDhcpv6ServerDown: DHCPv6 server is down or IP remote pool is full. (PoolNo.=[PoolNo],Server=[Server],VPN instance=[vpn-instance],Reason=[Reason])

This log is supported only on NetEngine 8000 F1A.

In VS mode, this log is supported only by the admin VS.

Description

DHCPv6 server is down or IP remote pool is full.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

PoolNo

Indicates the index of the address pool.

Server

Indicates the IP address of the remote DHCPv6 server.

vpn-instance

Indicates the VPN instance name.

Reason

Indicates the reason why the DHCPv6 server does not respond.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: The route of the IP address of the DHCP server does not exist. Cause 2: The DHCP server does not respond because it is busy. Cause 3: The IP addresses allocated by the DHCP server are used up.

Procedure

1. Check whether the network works normally.

Method: Run the ping command on the router to check whether the router can communicate with the DHCP server.

  • If not, run the display ip routing-table command to check the route and remove the exception. Then go to Step 2.
  • If the router can communicate with the DHCP server, go to Step 2.

2. Run the display ip pool pool-name command to check whether the IP addresses allocated by the DHCP server are used up.

  • If not, collect the log information of the DHCP server.

3. Check whether the alarm persists.

  • If the alarm persists, go to Step 4.
  • If not, go to Step 5.

4. Collect alarm information, log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.

5. End.
