IFNET/4/hwIfDampSuppress_active

Message

IFNET/4/hwIfDampSuppress_active: The state of interface changed from unsuppress to suppress. (InterfaceName=[InterfaceName], SuppressState=[SuppressState])

Description

After the physical status flapping suppression function is enabled, the interface enters the suppression state from the non-suppression state.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

InterfaceName

Interface name

SuppressState

Interface suppression status:

  • 0: The interface is not suppressed.
  • 1: The interface is suppressed.

Possible Causes

If the physical status flapping suppression function is enabled and an interface alternates between up and down, the interface enters the suppression state. In this case, this alarm is generated. (The number of up/down count on the interface is related to the configuration of physical status flapping suppression.)

Procedure

1. This alarm indicates that the physical interface is unstable because the optical fiber of the physical interface is intermittently disconnected. As a result, the interface frequently alternates between up and down states. If the physical link is abnormal, check the physical link status (including whether the network cable and optical module are loose or disconnected). Reconnect the physical link and check whether the alarm is cleared. If not, go to Step 2.

2. Collect alarm information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
