Example for Configuring Static Multicast for IPoE Access Users

This section provides an example for configuring static multicast for IPoE access users. The example provides the networking requirements, configuration roadmap, configuration procedure, and configuration files.

Networking Requirements

On the network shown in Figure 1, PC 1 and PC 2 belong to the domain named ipv4, and they support the IPoE access mode. Configure static multicast to meet the following requirements:

  • PC 1 and PC 2 can access the network through GE 0/1/0 on the BRAS in IPoE mode.

  • The BRAS does not authenticate or perform accounting for PC 1 and PC 2.

    • Authentication scheme: RADIUS or none

    • Accounting scheme: RADIUS or none

  • PC 1 and PC 2 can receive traffic of the multicast groups 225.1.1.1 and 227.1.1.1.

  • The BRAS uses GE 0/1/0 to communicate with the access network device and uses GE 0/1/1 and GE 0/1/2 to communicate with the PIM-SM devices.

Figure 1 Configuring static multicast for IPoE access users

Interface 1 in this example is GE 0/1/0.

Configuration Roadmap

The configuration roadmap is as follows:

  1. Configure an IPv4 address pool.

  2. Configure AAA schemes.

  3. Configure an AAA domain.

  4. Configure the IPoE user access service:

    1. Configure an authentication scheme.

    2. Configure a BAS interface and specify a user access type for the interface.

  5. Enable multicast traffic replication by session on the BAS interface.

  6. Configure basic multicast functions:

    1. Enable multicast routing.

    2. Enable PIM-SM on all interfaces of the BRAS.

    3. Enable IGMP on the BRAS interface connected to users.

  7. Configure static multicast:

    1. Configure multicast program lists in the AAA view.

    2. Configure a multicast profile in the AAA view.

    3. Bind the multicast profile to the AAA domain.

Data Preparation

  • IPv4 address pool name, address range, and gateway address

  • Authentication and accounting schemes

  • Name of the domain to which users belong

  • BAS interface parameters
