The Destination-Host AVP (AVP Code 293) is of type DiameterIdentity. The Destination-Host AVP may be carried in request messages, and must not be carried in response messages.

The absence of the Destination-Host AVP will cause a request to be sent to any Diameter server that supports the application within the realm specified in Destination-Realm AVP.

The Destination-Host AVP must be placed as close to the Diameter packet header as possible.
