Destination-Realm

The Destination-Realm AVP (AVP Code 283) is of type DiameterIdentity. The maximum length of the Destination-Realm AVP is 283 bytes.

The Destination-Realm AVP must not be carried in response messages. The User-Name AVP needs to be added to a request sent by a Diameter client. Diameter servers initiate a request message using the value of the Origin-Realm AVP carried in a previous message that is sent from the target host. The Destination-Realm AVP is used to perform message routing decisions.

The Destination-Realm AVP must be placed as close to the Diameter packet header as possible.
