Configuring Fast ICMP Reply

The fast ICMP reply function shortens the delay in responding to ICMP packets when the system is busy processing services.

Usage Scenario

Fast ICMP reply can be enabled on the NetEngine 8000 F under a heavy load to prevent a long delay in responding to ICMP packets.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run slot slot-id

    The slot view is displayed.

  3. Run icmp-reply fast

    Fast ICMP reply is enabled.

    Fast ICMP reply takes effect only when it is enabled in both system and slot views.

  4. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
