Configuring the Uniform or Pipe Mode for MPLS TE

Configure the Uniform or Pipe mode for MPLS TE.

Usage Scenario

To ensure the scheduling priorities of different MPLS TE services on an MPLS public network, configure the Uniform or Pipe mode.

Pre-configuration Tasks

Before configuring the MPLS TE Uniform or Pipe mode, complete the following tasks:

  • Configure physical parameters and link attributes for related interfaces to ensure normal operation of the interfaces.

  • Configure an MPLS TE tunnel between two PEs. (For details, see "MPLS TE Configuration" in HUAWEI NetEngine 8000 F Series Configuration Guide - MPLS.)

Before configuring the Uniform or Pipe mode for MPLS TE, check that an MPLS TE tunnel is Up.

After the following operations are performed on the user-side tunnel interface on the ingress PE, the configured mode takes effect only on the ingress PE. The penultimate node uses the Uniform mode by default.

To change the DiffServ mode for the penultimate node, see "Configuring the Uniform or Pipe Mode for the MPLS Penultimate Node".

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run interface tunnel interface-number

    The view of a user-side tunnel interface is displayed.

  3. Run diffserv-mode { pipe service-class color | uniform }

    A DiffServ mode is set for MPLS TE.

  4. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
