Configuring a Bootstrap Server

Context

Huawei devices cannot function as a bootstrap server. Therefore, you need to deploy a third-party bootstrap server. For configuration details, see the documentation of the third-party bootstrap server.

Before configuring a bootstrap server, you must obtain the ownership voucher of the device to be deployed by referring to the following procedure:

  • A user sends the root certificate of the bootstrap server to Huawei technical support.
  • Huawei issues the ownership voucher based on the root certificate of the bootstrap server and the ESN of the device to be deployed.
  • Huawei technical support sends the ownership voucher to the user.

Procedure

  1. Obtain the ownership voucher issued by Huawei for the device to be deployed through SZTP.
  2. Install the ownership voucher on the bootstrap server.
  3. Configure the bootstrap server.
