EFM OAM Configuration

This chapter describes Ethernet OAM and its configurations. You can configure EFM OAM to implement link-level Ethernet OAM detection and improve network reliability. EFM OAM mainly applies to MANs.

Overview of EFM OAM: Ethernet operation, administration and maintenance (OAM) effectively improves Ethernet manageability and maintainability and ensures network stability.

Configuring Basic EFM OAM Functions: You can configure basic EFM OAM functions to check link connectivity between two directly connected devices.

(Optional) Configuring Link Monitoring: You can configure errored frame, errored code, or errored frame second detection to detect link-layer faults.

Configuring Packet Loss Ratio Testing for a Physical Link: You can configure remote loopback to check link connectivity, test the packet loss ratio of a physical link, and take effective measures to ensure link performance.

Configuring the Association Between EFM OAM and an Interface: When the primary and backup links are deployed, you can associate EFM OAM with an interface to perform rapid service switchovers.

Maintaining EFM OAM: By maintaining EFM OAM, you can monitor the operating status of EFM OAM.

Configuration Examples for EFM: This section provides an example for configuring EFM OAM.
