Configuring the Access to the Public Network or an L3VPN

The configuration of an L3VE interface that accesses the public network or MPLS L3VPN varies with the networking environments.

Context

Do as follows on NPEs.

Procedure

Configuring a user to access the public network
1. Run system-view
  The system view is displayed.
2. Run interface virtual-ethernet interface-number interface-number
  The L3VE sub-interface view is displayed.
3. Run vlan-type dot1q vlan-id
  The VLAN ID of the L3VE sub-interface is configured.
4. Run ip address ip-address { mask | mask-length }
  An IP address is configured for the L3VE interface.
  
  The IP address is a public network IP address.
5. Configure a routing protocol on the NPEs to exchange routes with the CE device on the MPLS L2VPN network.

6. (Optional) Run mpls l2vpn l3ve delay-up time
  A delay is configured for the L3VE interface to go Up after a faulty L2VPN service recovers.
7. Run commit
  The configuration is committed.
Configuring a user to access the MPLS L3VPN network
1. Run system-view
  The system view is displayed.
2. Run interface virtual-ethernet interface-number interface-number
  The L3VE interface view is displayed.
3. Run vlan-type dot1q vlan-id
  The VLAN ID of the L3VE sub-interface is configured.
4. Run ip binding vpn-instance vpn-instance-name
  The L3VE interface is associated with a VPN instance.
5. Run ip address ip-address { mask | mask-length }
  An IP address is configured for the L3VE interface.
  
  The IP address is a private network address of MPLS L3VPN.
6. (Optional) Run mpls l2vpn l3ve delay-up time
  A delay is configured for the L3VE interface to go Up after a faulty L2VPN service recovers.
7. Run commit
  The configuration is committed.
