LDP MTU signaling can be configured to allow Label Mapping message carrying MTU TLVs to be sent.
An MTU value determines the maximum number of bytes that can be transmitted by a transmit node at one time. If a packet exceeds the MTU supported by the receive node or a transit node, the packet is fragmented or discarded, which imposes heavy burden on network transmission. After the LDP MTU signaling protocol is configured, packets smoothly pass through every transit device and reach receive ends without packet reassembly.
