(Optional) Configuring a Policy for Triggering the Establishment of Transit LSPs

A policy for triggering the establishment of transit LSPs can be configured to enable LDP to use routes that meet the specified policy to establish transit LSPs.

Context

After MPLS LDP is enabled, LDP LSPs are automatically established. In this case, a great number of transit LSPs may be established, which wastes resources. A policy for triggering the establishment of transit LSPs can be configured to enable LDP to use routes meeting the filtering requirements to establish transit LSPs and disable the local LSR from sending Label Mapping message carrying route information not meeting the filtering requirements to the upstream peer. This can effectively reduce the number of LSPs and use network resources more efficiently.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run mpls ldp

    The MPLS-LDP view is displayed.

  3. (Optional) Run ipv4-family

The MPLS LDP IPv4 view is displayed.

  4. Run propagate mapping for ip-prefix ip-prefix-name

A policy for triggering the establishment of transit LSPs is configured.

The propagate mapping command takes effect in either the MPLS-LDP view or MPLS LDP IPv4 view. If the command is configured in both views, only the configuration in the MPLS LDP IPv4 view takes effect.

  5. Run commit

    The configurations are committed.
