mLDP In-Band MVPN Control Messages

The key mechanism of mLDP in-band MVPN is the transmission of PIM-SM/SSM Join messages using mLDP signaling. (S, G) entries in C-multicast PIM Join messages are carried in the Opaque value in mLDP P2MP Label Mapping messages and forwarded over mLDP P2MP tunnels. Figure 1 shows the format of the Opaque value.
