Typical Application of Network Slicing
As shown in Figure 1, 5G services have diverse requirements. Specifically, autonomous driving and smart grids have low requirements on bandwidth but high requirements on latency, whereas HD video services require high bandwidth. To meet the requirements of various services, network slices can be planned on an IP bearer network. Different forwarding resources are allocated to different slices to carry different services, achieving the dedicated use of the slices.

The network has the following characteristics:
- One network for multiple purposes: 2B, 2C, and 2H services are carried over one unified IP network.
- Exclusive use of resources: Forwarding-plane resource reservation technologies can be flexibly selected, achieving the exclusive use of resources.
- Ultimate experience: Resources are exclusively used by different types of services, ensuring user experience.
- Security isolation: Each industry has a dedicated slice to prevent other industries' services from affecting the industry's services.
