LLDP Applications in Single Neighbor Networking

Networking Description

In single neighbor networking, no interfaces between devices or interfaces between devices and media endpoints (MEs) are directly connected to intermediate devices. Each device interface is connected only to one remote neighboring device. In the single neighbor networking shown in Figure 1, Device B is directly connected to Device A and the ME, and each interface of Device A and Device B is connected only to a single remote neighboring device.

Feature Deployment

After LLDP is configured on Device A and Device B, an administrator can use the NMS to obtain Layer 2 configuration information about these devices, collect detailed network topology information, and determine whether a configuration conflict exists. LLDP helps make network communications more secure and stable.
