DEFD/6/HOSTCAR_DROPPKT

Message

DEFD/6/HOSTCAR_DROPPKT:Rate of packets to cpu exceeded the HOSTCAR limit. (CarID=[ULONG], ExceededPacketCount=[STRING], PacketInfo=[STRING])

Description

The rate of packets sent to the CPU exceeds the user-level rate limiting threshold.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

CarID

Indicates a bucket ID.

ExceededPacketCount

Indicates the number of packets exceeding the rate threshold.

PacketInfo

The format of the parameter value is as follows:

The growth rate of top n packets is as follows: MAC1=[STRING], Protocol1=[STRING],...,MACn=[STRING], Protocoln=[STRING]

Indicates the number of discarded packets with top n growth rates. The maximum value of n is 10.

Possible Causes

The rate of packets sent to the CPU exceeds the user-level rate limiting threshold and the excess packets are discarded.

Procedure

  • If a large number of normal service packets are sent to the CPU, run the cpu-defend host-car [ mac-address mac-address | car-id car-id ] pps pps-value command to adjust the rate limit. Otherwise, some packets will be discarded, affecting normal services. Adjusting the rate limit may affect CPU usage. You are advised to contact technical support personnel.
  • If services are abnormal, locate the cause based on other log information.
