Configure Diameter if service policies need to be delivered
through a Diameter server.
Context
A Diameter server delivers service
policies for value-added services, such as BOD, DAA, and EDSG services.
Before configuring Diameter, familiarize yourself with the following
basic concepts:
- Diameter client: configured on a local router. Only one Diameter client can be configured on the router.
- Diameter server: configured on a remote policy server RM9000.
A maximum of eight Diameter servers can be specified for the router.
- Diameter connection group: a connection group between a Diameter
server and a client. A Diameter connection group is uniquely identified
by a client name and a server name. A maximum of eight Diameter connection
groups can be configured on the router, because a maximum of eight Diameter servers can be specified for
the router.
- Diameter connection link: a link for the TCP-based connection
between a Diameter server and a client. A connection link is uniquely
identified by the IP addresses and port numbers of the Diameter server
and client. A maximum of four Diameter connection links can be configured
in a Diameter connection group.
