Configuring a Diameter Connection Link

Configure a Diameter connection link to connect a Diameter client and server.

Context

Diameter server groups consist of Diameter clients, servers, and connection links.

In a dual-device hot backup scenario, two Diameter connection links need to be configured. Perform the following steps to configure a Diameter link:

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run diameter-local localname interface interface-type interface-number [ host host-name | product product-name | realm realm-name ] *

The Diameter client entity information is configured, including the name, host IP address (IP address of the interface specified by interface interface-type interface-number), host name, realm name, and product name of the client.

In a dual-device hot backup scenario, to allow automatic failover between primary and backup Diameter links, configure the same host and realm names for the master and backup Diameter clients.

  3. Run diameter-peer peer-name { ip ip-address | ipv6 ipv6-address } [ vpn-instance vpn-instance ] port port-number [ host host-name | realm realm-name ] *

The Diameter server entity information is specified, including the host name, realm name, IP address, and port number of the server.

  4. Run diameter-server group group-name

A Diameter server group is created, and its view is displayed.

  5. Run diameter-link local localname peer peername client-port port-number [ weight weight-value ]

A Diameter connection link is created to connect the Diameter client and server.

  6. (Optional) Run diameter no-send-ccri without subscription-id

The device is disabled from sending CCR-I messages to a Diameter server for user login if the received RADIUS authentication response message does not carry the subscription-id attribute.

  7. (Optional) Run diameter case-sensitive predefined-rule edsg

The device is configured to be case-sensitivity to predefined EDSG rules delivered by the Diameter server.

After the command is run, the device considers two rules as different ones even if their names are different only in letter case. For example, the device considers the rules named axx and Axx as different rules.

  8. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
