HQoS in enhanced 8-CoS mode ensures that CIR and PIR service traffic is scheduled based on their priorities.
The HQoS scheduling model is divided into three scheduling levels: FQ, SQ (also referred to as user queue), and GQ. This ensures that the traffic of different users and services can be precisely differentiated, and thereby provides differentiated bandwidth management. An FQ caches data flows with the same CoS value, and each SQ corresponds to eight CoS values. In addition to providing the functions of FQs in 8-CoS mode, FQs in enhanced 8-CoS mode allow a device to differentiate, mark, and re-queue CIR and PIR traffic to preferentially ensure the CIRs for all services. Each FQ in enhanced 8-CoS mode has a CoS value in the range 0 to 7. A larger value indicates a higher CoS and queue priority.
Before configuring HQoS in enhanced 8-CoS mode, complete the following tasks:
Configure the physical parameters and link attributes of interfaces to ensure that they work properly.
Configure IP addresses for interfaces.
Configure IP routes on the router to ensure link connectivity.
