An inclusive-PMSI (I-PMSI) tunnel connects all PEs in the same MVPN. If a wildcard is used when an address pool range and criteria are configured for switching from an I-PMSI tunnel to a selective-PMSI (S-PMSI) tunnel, this configuration task is not required.
An S-PMSI tunnel connects some PEs in the same MVPN and is used to transmit VPN data only to the PEs that require the data. To enable the S-PMSI tunnel function, perform this task.
If IGMP is enabled on a multicast device's interface connecting to a user network segment, multicast group members on the local network can be managed. According to the service plan, you can enable IGMP on a VPN site's CE connected to a receiver PE or on the receiver PE. Perform this task for the latter case.
In an MVPNv4 over BIERv6 scenario, if a node or link fails, multicast services can be restored only after BGP peer convergence is complete. However, such convergence takes a long time and therefore cannot meet the high reliability requirements of multicast services. To speed up convergence, you can use BFD for BGP. You can also deploy the dual-root 1+1 protection solution, which further improves the performance of multicast service convergence.
