This section describes how to configure a VPWS to access the public network or an L3VPN. To achieve this, you can deploy a VPWS on the access network.
On the network shown in Figure 1, to enable a user to access the public network or an MPLS L3VPN through an MPLS L2VPN, deploy a VPWS on the access network.
Before configuring a VPWS to access an L3VPN, complete the following tasks:
Connect interfaces and configure their physical parameters for these interfaces to go Up at the physical layer.
Enable an IGP on the MPLS access network for IP connectivity.
Enable MPLS L2VPN on UPEs and NPEs.
Create L2VPN tunnels between UPEs and NPEs.
For LDP PWs: create LDP sessions between UPEs and NPEs.
For BGP PWs: create BGP sessions between UPEs and NPEs.
Create remote LDP sessions if NPEs and UPEs are not directly connected.
Enable an IGP on the MPLS bearer network for IP connectivity.
Configure basic L3VPN functions on NPEs.
